Crew Talent

This is my first time joining coding competition, SIA AppChallenge 2017, to develop a mobile app to solve either customer or operation problems. My team, consisting of 4 people, decided to tackle one of the operation problems, the Cabin Crew Digital Recruitment, on how we can improve this recruitment process and at the same time inspire more millennial to be part of the cabin crew.

 

Recruitment process is indeed a very stressful moment for applicants as well as interviewers. A lot of applicants feel nervous for the interview while interviewers feel exhausted assessing all of the applicants. Thus, we use the idea of gamification and implement other features to design Crew Talent for both SIA applicants and interviewers.

Video Quality Check

 

Applicants have a requirement to an interview video to SIA. However, interviewers always complain for the poor video quality simply because some of the applicants does not realize that their voice is inaudible in the video or they are not on the frame.

​

When applicants are using Crew Talent to take interview video, the app will help applicants to do sound and video check before they begin the interview recording. This will create a win-win situation for both parties, allowing interviewers to have better assessment and improving the chance of applicants getting the jobs.

Gamification​

 

Interview is indeed one of the most nervous and stressful moment for applicants. But with Crew Talent, we will make interview fun and enjoyable. When they are taking interview with Crew Talent, they will dive into an airplane, being a cabin crew, facing the real life scenario inside the plane. This immersive experience of being a cabin crew will calm their nervous as they feel awe with their surrounding. Without any nervous sweat, they can enthusiastically give a confident response in the virtual world. All their response and face expression will be captured by their phone camera which will be sent to the interviewers. 

Interviewers can even discover potential applicants as the applicants can show their true expression and their personality when they are in airplane simulation.

Assessment

Crew Talent provides a convenient assessment platform to interviewers where they can see applicants' background, give rating and write comments to applicants.

Millennial Attraction

 

Crew Talent is not only limited to applicants and interviewers. Young millennials are also able to download Crew Talent, letting them enjoy the immersive experience of being cabin crew and potentially be one part of SIA family.
